Description

The dmi_apple_smc_version_t structure holds the decoded Apple SMC version information (type 134), which tells the version of the firmware of the System Management Controller (SMC). Newer Macs carry no such structure.

The structure is returned by dmi_entity_info for the structures decoded by dmi_apple_smc_version_spec, of type DMI_TYPE(apple_smc_version), declared in <opendmi/module/apple.h>, once the Apple extension module (dmi_apple_module) is enabled, which is done for the platforms of Apple firmware when the context has DMI_CONTEXT_FLAG_AUTO_MODULES. It lives as long as the context it has been decoded in.

Fields

version_raw

Version of the SMC firmware, as the structure holds it, of DMI_APPLE_SMC_VERSION_SIZE (16) bytes.

version

Version of the SMC firmware as text, e.g. 2.15f7, which the bytes of zero end. nullptr if the structure holds no text. The string belongs to the structure, and is freed along with it.
