Description

The dmi_firmware_ident_t structure holds the identifier string of a firmware parsed according to the identifier format of its firmware inventory information structure. It is the type of the parsed_ident field of dmi_firmware_inventory_t.

The decoder parses the string only if it conforms to the format the structure declares. The string itself stays available in the ident field of dmi_firmware_inventory_t in any case.

Fields

format

Format the string has been parsed in: DMI_FIRMWARE_IDENT_FORMAT_GUID if guid holds the identifier, DMI_FIRMWARE_IDENT_FORMAT_FREE if the string is absent, is free-form, uses another format, or is not a well-formed GUID.

guid

Identifier, if format is DMI_FIRMWARE_IDENT_FORMAT_GUID. Its bytes follow the order of the digits in the string.
