dmi_intel_svt
Synopsis
#include <opendmi/entity/intel/svt.h>
typedef struct dmi_intel_svt {
uint8_t version;
uint16_t parameter;
size_t milestone_count;
dmi_intel_svt_milestone_t *milestones;
} dmi_intel_svt_t;
Description
The dmi_intel_svt_t structure holds the decoded Intel Silicon View
Technology (SVT) milestones: the milestones of the boot the firmware reports
to the debug and validation tools of Intel.
The structure is returned by dmi_entity_info for the structures decoded
by dmi_intel_svt_spec or dmi_intel_svt_aligned_spec, of type
DMI_TYPE(intel_svt), declared in
<opendmi/module/intel.h>, once the Intel extension module
(dmi_intel_module) is enabled. It lives as long as the context it has been
decoded in.
The Intel reference code gives the structures type 222, but vendors who give
that type to structures of their own place them elsewhere or not at all:
Dell places them at type 206, and HP servers carry none. A group association
(type 14) named Intel® Silicon View Technology often refers to the
structure.
Some firmware does not pack the structure, e.g. the one of Dell XPS 13 9365:
the parameter is aligned to two bytes, after a byte of zero which follows the
version, and the milestones are followed by a byte which makes the length of
the structure even. Such structures are decoded by
dmi_intel_svt_aligned_spec into the same structure.
Both layouts are told by the version and the parameter, 1 and 0x0099, which
every known structure holds, so that the structures vendors give type 222 are
not taken for the milestones on the systems whose firmware names no vendor.
