dmi_intel_asf
Synopsis
#include <opendmi/entity/intel/asf.h>
typedef struct dmi_intel_asf {
uint8_t version;
const char *name;
const char *identifier;
uint8_t parameter;
uint8_t extra[8];
bool has_extra;
} dmi_intel_asf_t;
Description
The dmi_intel_asf_t structure holds the decoded Intel ASF information,
which names the Alert Standard Format (ASF) support of the platform. The
meaning of the fields other than the strings is not established.
The structure is returned by dmi_entity_info for the structures decoded
by dmi_intel_asf_spec, of type DMI_TYPE(intel_asf), declared in
<opendmi/module/intel.h>, once the Intel extension module
(dmi_intel_module) is enabled, which is done for any platform with Intel
processors when the context has DMI_CONTEXT_FLAG_AUTO_MODULES. It lives as
long as the context it has been decoded in.
The structures are told by the version, 1, and by the number of the first
string, 1, at offset 0x04, since other vendors give type 129 to structures
of their own, e.g. Gigabyte. The strings are the ones of the Intel reference
code, e.g. Intel_ASF and Intel_ASF_001, or of the vendor of the firmware,
e.g. Dell_ASF_001 or Insyde_ASF_001.
Fields
version-
Version of the structure, presumably, 1 in all known data.
name-
Name of the ASF support, e.g.
Intel_ASForInsyde_ASF_001. identifier-
Identifier of the ASF support, e.g.
Intel_ASF_001orDell_ASF_002. parameter-
Value whose meaning is not established, 1 in most known data and 0 on ThinkPad T61p.
extra-
Bytes which follow in the structures of 16 bytes, whose meaning is not established, e.g. on Acer Aspire 3680. Not shown when
has_extrais not set. has_extra-
Whether the structure holds
extra, which the structures of 8 bytes leave out.
