types

Synopsis

opendmi [global options] types [command options]

Description

The types command lists the structure types the utility knows how to decode, giving the number of each type, the module which describes it, its code name and what it holds.

The code name is what the --type option of opendmi-show, opendmi-list and opendmi-export accepts in place of the number, and what opendmi-explain takes as its argument. It is also the name the type is known by in the output of opendmi-export and in the reports of opendmi-lint.

Only the types the specification defines are listed by default. --module and --all-modules list the types of the extension modules in place of those, and --all lists everything at once. The command reads no SMBIOS data, so it works without access to the platform.

Options

-?, -h, --help

Print help and exit.

-m module, --module=module

List the types described by the named module instead of the standard ones. The option may be given several times. See opendmi-modules for the modules available.

-M, --all-modules

List the types described by every module instead of the standard ones.

-a, --all

List every type the utility knows, the standard ones and the ones of every module alike.

-r, --raw

Print the fields separated by tabs rather than aligned in columns, so that the output is easy to read with cut(1) or awk(1). This is the default when the standard output is not a terminal.

Exit status

0

Types have been listed.

2

Command line is invalid.
