dmi_hpe_microcode_patch

Synopsis

#include <opendmi/entity/hpe/microcode.h>

typedef struct dmi_hpe_microcode_patch {
    uint32_t patch_id;
    uint32_t raw_date;
    dmi_date_t date;
    uint32_t cpuid;
    uint32_t signature;
} dmi_hpe_microcode_patch_t;

Description

The dmi_hpe_microcode_patch_t structure describes a CPU microcode patch the firmware carries, as an element of the patches field of dmi_hpe_microcode_t.

Fields

patch_id

Patch ID, which is the microcode revision.

raw_date

Release date of the patch, as the microcode header gives it: the month, the day and the year in binary-coded decimal.

date

Release date of the patch.

cpuid

Processor signature (CPUID leaf 1 EAX) the patch applies to, as the structure holds it. AMD platforms leave out the byte holding the base family, bits 8 to 15, and move the bytes above it down by one.

signature

Processor signature the patch applies to. On the platforms whose processors are of AMD, the byte left out of cpuid is put back with the base family of 15, the way dmidecode does, which is valid for the families of 15 onwards only. On other platforms, the same as cpuid.

Standards

Not part of the SMBIOS specification. Defined by HP and HPE for their servers; the layout is the one dmidecode documents.
