dmi_dell_parallel_port

Synopsis

#include <opendmi/entity/dell/parallel-port.h>

typedef struct dmi_dell_parallel_port {
    uint16_t base_address;
    uint8_t irq_number;
    dmi_dell_parallel_port_connector_type_t connector;
    dmi_dell_parallel_port_connector_pinout_t pinout;
    dmi_dell_parallel_port_caps_t capabilities;
    dmi_dell_port_security_t security;
} dmi_dell_parallel_port_t;

Description

The dmi_dell_parallel_port_t structure holds the decoded Dell parallel port structure (type 209): the resources, the connector and the capabilities of a parallel port, and the security setting applied to it.

The structure is returned by dmi_entity_info for the structures of type DMI_TYPE(dell_parallel_port), declared in <opendmi/module/dell.h>, and lives as long as the context it has been decoded in.

Fields

base_address

Base I/O address of the port.

irq_number

IRQ the port uses.

connector

Connector of the port.

pinout

Pin-out of the connector.

capabilities

Modes and features the port supports.

security

Security setting applied to the port.

Examples

dmi_registry_t           *registry = dmi_get_registry(context);
dmi_entity_t             *entity   = dmi_registry_lookup_first(registry,
                                         DMI_TYPE(dell_parallel_port), true);
dmi_dell_parallel_port_t *port     = dmi_entity_info(entity,
                                         DMI_TYPE(dell_parallel_port));

if (port != nullptr) {
    printf("Parallel port at 0x%04x, IRQ %u, ECP %s\n", port->base_address,
           port->irq_number, port->capabilities.is_ecp ? "yes" : "no");
}

Standards

Not part of the SMBIOS specification. Defined by Dell firmware, see the Dell Parallel Port (Type 209) chapter of the reference manual.
