dmi_dell_memory_ids
Synopsis
#include <opendmi/entity/dell/memory-ids.h>
typedef struct dmi_dell_memory_ids {
uint8_t id_length;
size_t module_count;
dmi_dell_memory_id_entry_t *modules;
} dmi_dell_memory_ids_t;
Description
The dmi_dell_memory_ids_t structure holds the decoded Dell memory module
identifiers (type 223), which tell the manufacturer and the serial number of
the memory modules, as their serial presence detect (SPD) data holds them.
The memory devices (type 17) of the older systems carry no fields for them,
e.g. the ones of PowerEdge 1300, 400SC and SC420 and OptiPlex GX110.
The structure is returned by dmi_entity_info for the structures decoded
by dmi_dell_memory_ids_spec, of type DMI_TYPE(dell_memory_ids), declared
in <opendmi/module/dell.h>, once the Dell extension module
(dmi_dell_module) is enabled. It lives as long as the context it has been
decoded in.
The specification decodes the structures whose identifiers are 12 bytes long only, since the ones of other lengths may be laid out otherwise, and leaves the others undecoded.
The layout is reverse engineered from the dumps of the data corpus, since no public source describes the structure, and the members whose meaning is not established are named after their position.
