explain

Synopsis

opendmi [global options] explain [command options] [--] type

Description

The explain command prints what a structure type is for, as the specification describes it, along with its number and its code name.

The type argument is either a number or a code name, e.g. 4 or processor. Use opendmi-types to see the types and their codes, and -- before the argument if it could be read as an option.

Types described by extension modules are explained as well, once the module is enabled with the global --module option. The command reads no SMBIOS data, so it works without access to the platform.

The command has no options of its own.
