dmi_hpe_system_id

Synopsis

#include <opendmi/entity/hpe/system-id.h>

typedef struct dmi_hpe_system_id {
    const char *system_id;
    uint8_t platform_id[2];
    dmi_uuid_t guid;
    bool has_platform_id;
} dmi_hpe_system_id_t;

Description

The dmi_hpe_system_id_t structure holds the decoded HP/HPE server system ID, which replaces the EISA ID of the older systems, and the platform ID iLO tells the platform by.

The structure is returned by dmi_entity_info for the structures decoded by dmi_hpe_system_id_spec, of type DMI_TYPE(hpe_system_id), declared in <opendmi/module/hpe.h>, once the HPE extension module (dmi_hpe_module) is enabled, which it is for HP and HPE servers. It lives as long as the context it has been decoded in.

The platform ID and the GUID are absent from the structures of the older servers, and are then zero.

Fields

system_id

Server system ID, e.g. $0E110761.

platform_id

Bytes of the platform ID, as the CPLD holds them, low byte first. The order the ID is written in is not documented.

guid

GUID, reserved from Gen11 onwards.

has_platform_id

Whether the structure holds the platform ID, which the structures of 5 bytes leave out. The field is not shown then.

Not part of the SMBIOS specification. Defined by HP and HPE for their servers; the layout is the one dmidecode documents.
