dmi_processor_id_format
Synopsis
#include <opendmi/entity/processor.h>
typedef enum dmi_processor_id_format {
DMI_PROCESSOR_ID_FORMAT_RAW = 0,
DMI_PROCESSOR_ID_FORMAT_X86 = 1,
DMI_PROCESSOR_ID_FORMAT_MIDR = 2,
DMI_PROCESSOR_ID_FORMAT_SOC_ID = 3
} dmi_processor_id_format_t;
Description
The dmi_processor_id_format_t enumeration tells how the processor
identifier of a processor information structure has been decoded, and is the
type of the id_format field of dmi_processor_t. It selects which of the
x86_id, arm_id and soc_id fields of the structure holds the decoded
identifier.
The format is chosen from the processor family, and, for the families which do not tell the architecture (other, unknown, and the Apple M1 and M2 families, which older specifications gave to Cyrix x86 processors), from the vendor and version strings as well.
Values
DMI_PROCESSOR_ID_FORMAT_RAW-
Architecture not recognized: the identifier is only available as stored, in the
idfield. DMI_PROCESSOR_ID_FORMAT_X86-
x86 processor: signature and feature flags returned by CPUID leaf 1, decoded into the
x86_idfield. DMI_PROCESSOR_ID_FORMAT_MIDR-
Arm processor: Main ID Register (MIDR or MIDR_EL1), decoded into the
arm_idfield. DMI_PROCESSOR_ID_FORMAT_SOC_ID-
Arm64 processor supporting the SMCCC_ARCH_SOC_ID call: SoC identifier and revision, decoded into the
soc_idfield.
