Description

The dmi_hpe_processor_t structure holds the decoded HP/HPE processor specific information, which supplements the processor information (type 4) of each processor socket or slot with the numbers the server tells its processors by.

The structure is returned by dmi_entity_info for the structures decoded by dmi_hpe_processor_spec, of type DMI_TYPE(hpe_processor), declared in <opendmi/module/hpe.h>, once the HPE extension module (dmi_hpe_module) is enabled, which it is for HP and HPE servers. It lives as long as the context it has been decoded in.

The structure has grown with the generations of the servers: fields the data ends before are set to the values they have when not specified.

Fields

processor_handle

Handle of the processor information structure (type 4).

apic_id

Local APIC ID of the processor.

is_bsp

Whether the processor is the bootstrap processor.

is_x2apic

Whether the processor runs in the x2APIC mode.

is_thermal_margining

Whether advanced thermal margining is enabled.

slot

Physical slot, as the silk screen names it. Set to UINT8_MAX when the processor is not in a slot.

socket

Physical socket, as the silk screen names it. Set to UINT8_MAX when the processor is not in a socket.

maximum_power

Rated maximum power of the processor in watts, zero if unknown.

x2apic_id

x2APIC ID of the processor, valid in the x2APIC mode, and not shown when is_x2apic is not set. Set to UINT32_MAX when the structure holds none.

uuid

Unique identifier of the processor, zero if unknown.

interconnect_speed

Speed of the interconnect in MT/s, zero if unknown.

qdf_raw

QDF or S-Spec number of Intel processors, six characters padded with spaces, as the structure holds them.

qdf

QDF or S-Spec number of Intel processors, nullptr if the structure holds none. The string belongs to the structure, and is freed along with it.

Standards

Not part of the SMBIOS specification. Defined by HP and HPE for their servers; the layout is the one dmidecode documents.
