dmi_firmware_version

Synopsis

#include <opendmi/entity/firmware-inventory.h>

typedef struct dmi_firmware_version {
    dmi_firmware_version_format_t format;
    dmi_firmware_version_number_t number;
    uint64_t value;
} dmi_firmware_version_t;

Description

The dmi_firmware_version_t structure holds a firmware version string parsed according to the version format of its firmware inventory information structure. It is the type of the parsed_version and parsed_lowest_version fields of dmi_firmware_inventory_t.

The decoder parses a string only if it conforms to the format the structure declares. The string itself stays available in version or lowest_version of dmi_firmware_inventory_t in any case.

Fields

format

Format the string has been parsed in, which tells the field holding the version: DMI_FIRMWARE_VERSION_FORMAT_SEMANTIC for number, DMI_FIRMWARE_VERSION_FORMAT_HEX_32 and DMI_FIRMWARE_VERSION_FORMAT_HEX_64 for value. DMI_FIRMWARE_VERSION_FORMAT_FREE if the string is absent, is free-form, uses a vendor-specific format, or does not conform to the format the structure declares; neither field is used then. See dmi_firmware_version_format.

number

Major and minor version numbers, if format is DMI_FIRMWARE_VERSION_FORMAT_SEMANTIC, see dmi_firmware_version_number.

value

Numeric value of the version, if format is DMI_FIRMWARE_VERSION_FORMAT_HEX_32 or DMI_FIRMWARE_VERSION_FORMAT_HEX_64: the string is "0x" followed by at most 8 or 16 hexadecimal digits.

Standards

DMTF SMBIOS Specification (DSP0134), version 3.5 or newer.
