dmi_hpe_nic_info

Synopsis

#include <opendmi/entity/hpe/nic.h>

typedef struct dmi_hpe_nic_info {
    size_t port_count;
    dmi_hpe_nic_port_t *ports;
} dmi_hpe_nic_info_t;

Description

The dmi_hpe_nic_info_t structure holds the decoded HP/HPE BIOS PXE NIC PCI and MAC information, and BIOS iSCSI NIC PCI and MAC information, which list the network ports the firmware boots from over PXE or iSCSI.

The structure is returned by dmi_entity_info for the structures decoded by dmi_hpe_pxe_nic_spec, of type DMI_TYPE(hpe_pxe_nic), and by dmi_hpe_iscsi_nic_spec, of type DMI_TYPE(hpe_iscsi_nic), declared in <opendmi/module/hpe.h>, once the HPE extension module (dmi_hpe_module) is enabled, which it is for HP and HPE servers. It lives as long as the context it has been decoded in.

Ports run to the end of the structure, which carries no number of them of its own. The iSCSI ports are listed up to G7 only: type 221 is deprecated from Gen8 onwards, and structures of that type are not decoded on the newer servers, the Intel firmware version information included.

Fields

port_count

Number of ports.

ports

Ports, see dmi_hpe_nic_port. May be nullptr when port_count is 0.

Standards

Not part of the SMBIOS specification. Defined by HP and HPE for their servers; the layout is the one dmidecode documents.
