dmi_processor_x86_id
Synopsis
#include <opendmi/entity/processor.h>
typedef struct dmi_processor_x86_id {
uint8_t type;
uint16_t family;
uint16_t model;
uint8_t stepping;
uint32_t features;
} dmi_processor_x86_id_t;
Description
The dmi_processor_x86_id_t structure holds the processor identifier of an
x86 processor, decoded from the processor information structure (type 4) of
SMBIOS: the processor signature and the feature flags which the CPUID
instruction returns for leaf 1 in the EAX and EDX registers.
It is the x86_id field of dmi_processor_t, set when the id_format field
of it is DMI_PROCESSOR_ID_FORMAT_X86. Some firmware stores the two words of
the identifier in the reverse order; the decoder recognizes them by the
reserved bits of the signature and puts them back in order.
Fields
type-
Processor type, bits 12 and 13 of the signature: 0 for an original OEM processor, 1 for an OverDrive processor, 2 for the second processor of a dual-processor system.
family-
Processor family, bits 8 to 11 of the signature. For the base family 0xF, the extended family (bits 20 to 27) is added to it.
model-
Processor model, bits 4 to 7 of the signature. For the base families 0x6 and 0xF, the extended model (bits 16 to 19) gives its upper four bits.
stepping-
Stepping, bits 0 to 3 of the signature.
features-
Feature flags, the value of the EDX register.
